if they are that cheap they cant afford to pay for a member they why do you trust them in a trade or risking them to buy something off of you???

Very true. If you got 5.80 for priority shipping then 10.00 for a year membership shouldn't be that much to ask. It also may help to keep crooks away.

the crooks are always going to find away but this will make it harder for them. when you become a paid member don't you have to give them a email address and your address?? crooks are not going to want to give that out.

can that just be a yahoo email or does it have to be one that your internet provider gives you?? I think it should be the one that your internet provider gives you that way you can be traced if there is a problem.

I understand about you but I am asking for all of those people that seam to be causing trouble of simple trades or selling/buying that get banned and they keep coming back.

Not really a lot of them and most get caught quickly.
Only a few real professional scammers are a threat.

I'm on a fixed income (retired) and I am happy to pay as a way to support the knife community.

Plus, psychologically, I would think if your are a paid member - even the dirt cheap Basic - you are financially invested in our community and less likely to rip off other members.

I agree with both of you. I am on a fix income but I keep coming up with the money too.
