Pain

I was a boxer as a result I had a good bit of nerve damage in my hands( yea I hit hard) I had to have several areas in my hands sliced open and hit with a lazer , oh boy let me tell you a lazer directly on the nerves in your fingers is no joke. It was the kind of pain where you get that funny feeling in your head and down your entire body also break into a cold sweat, to this day is was my most painful experience.

You were AWAKE when they hit you with the laser? WOW I couldn't imagine that. . . .

Reading this makes me thankful that I'm relatively pain free every day. I hope everyone gets to feeling better soon!

Well it is Sunday and the ankle is feeling better than Friday, I can start back on the exercise program and make the most of the injection. I also have to apply 1/4 of an "angina patch" to the tendon as well, apparently this helps with the blood flow/healing, tried the first one last weekend and the side effects were OK till 1am when I thought my head may explode....!!!! Going back to 1/16th tonight to see if I can work with that.

and yes each and every day I get out of bed there is something that hurts..... ;) the knuckles on both hands are a bit dodgy thanks to spending so many years around martial arts and all though broken boards/tiles etc. The chiropractor has my hips back in alingment (I could specualte on what caused this it could be one of several things). Till the injection in the tendon having my dislocated shoulder put back in on the table (no pain relief) with manual traction - this is the doctor grabbing my hand and pulling till the shoulder went back in - was the most intense medical procedure I can recall. In fairness to the doctor, he told me the relocation needed to be done under general anaesthetic and I was not leaving his office in other than an ambulance. I of course explained I was on a course that only came around once in a career and that I would be going back to it shortly, so he offered to do it "the hard way" .... :D

Thanks mate, the tendon has been playing up for years, the motivator for getting onto it now is the trip to Africa next year, apparently the tendon was prone to rupture as it was heading and that could be caused by sudden bursts of running etc, I figure if I am fleeing and screaming like a freightened girl from either a charging Cape Buffalo or annoyed Crocodile the LAST thing I need is the tendon snapping and dropping me on the ground..... I have noticed the documentation arrive that increases my life insurance..... hummmmmmmmm

Well I started the rehab exercises again last night and today it is hurting like heck....I guess no pain no gain..... ;) Actually, if it hurts I am supose to stop and apply ice packs (done) .....now if I can just convince one of my staff to give me a foot massage..... :D :D

Thanks mate, yeah I am hoping the PRP will be worth it in the end, my physio therapist and Doctor are at odds over the exercise program.... and both a lecturing me.... I suggested they talk to each other and get back to me at some point.... ;)

Andy, hope the tendon heals fast and the injections give the desired effect.

I'll quote my coach from years long gone: 'If you wake up one day and nothing hurts it means you're dead'...

No, but apparently that is the spirit I need.... ;) Counting down to next Friday for the next injection..... "yay" .......

Well..... that was injection No2 ....and it hurt MUCH more than the first.....*yay* No pretense from the Doc this time, he just said...."OK.....this is going to f%*$ing hurt" and he was right...... I have an ice pack and bourbon to ease the pain tonight..... :(

Hope this actually works for you brother.

Pain subsides, chicks dig scars, but the glory last forever!;):D

Ive had cortisone shot into my elbow and it hurt. Actually my arm was worse for day or two then it was great. I can feel it coming back and I dread the thought of another shot.

I had knee surgery couple years ago to fix the big tendon that connects the patella to the tibia, and that hurt but not near as bad as a planters wart I got in a shower house at the beach.

I thought I had stepped on glass and tried cutting it out, and then I thought it callused over and I kept shaving it off for couple years. When I finally realized what it was it was right after my knee surgery. So, I was on crutches for right knee and went to have the wart removed from left foot. I was screwed cause I couldnt put weight down on either hardly. I went on through like 6 chemical burns on it that make a huge blister under the wart to cut off blood supply. When this still wasnt getting it done. I came back and got a huge needle stuck in my foot so they could laser it. THank goodness I still had pain pills from the knee. After that still didnt get it. I went back and told doc he wasnt sticking me with that needle again. I just got a ride to doc after few martinis and couple pain pills and had him laser it with no injection!

He couldnt believe I did it as he had never done it that way to anyone else. I have to say it was still better than that big arse needle:thumbup:

Heres to you getting better real soon. A hog-tinni with 6, ok maybe 8 ozs of gin and splash of olive juice:)

I've only had a doctor tell me that something was going to "hurt quite a bit" once.... and that's all I'm gonna say about that.

Now that hog-tinni looks gooooooood !!!!

Just out of bed after a pretty crappy night :( Oh well, today is the start of a three day weekend.... :D
