It looks more shiny and and smoother which may be good for coating retention. But once you start chopping the wear pattern just brings out the knives character anyways ;)
And agreed as mentioned the grey in the black red handles matches the hammered silver spot on. The tan in the other handle matches the logo and the black the blade. Lots of symmetry

Thank you, and yes. Very much so "slippier". Its really neat. But, ya know the nicest grips Ive saw thus far a felow hog just snagged up from the exchange. They were the Tequila Sunrise pattern just like mine but, in tan, black and white. Just beautiful.
