Break out your Pala knives if ya got one. My wife took this one away from me a while back and decided it was a bit big for a paring knife but she didnt say I could have it back? She wanted me to make the handle a bit thinner and round it off a bit. I really didnt want to mess with something Pala made as it was kinda special because... well its made by Aunti's dad! Thats enough! I put it in my project pile hoping she would forget about it but that aint happening. OK I had to do it so here it is! Actually looks kinds cool! The wood looks like oak of some kind and really has some nice chatoyance to it. Is that really a word? I do believe he made some in the past so if you have some old ones that would be cool to see as well. OK back to the kitchen goes my Pala!

I have one I think from the same batch and had the very same exact feelings. Didn't really want to mess with what he'd done.

So far I've left it alone. I'll take some pics tomorrow.

Great pix and thoughts for Pala's knife, thank you for sharing

Mine never left the kitchen.

I don't have a pic of mine handy, but it's a great utility blade for sure. Cuts veggies and bones meat with ease. I just sealed the handle and gave the edge a bit of a sharpening. I'll never part with mine:)

I wont part with mine either and my wife knows it:D

DANG IT!!! I am going to have to quit work so I can keep up with you Bawanna, You actually ARE as greedy as me LOL. Well Congrats on getting what looks like an awesome do a bit of everything knife.

Well darling in my own defense I claimed it in Blue's behalf. I already have one and he just made a post where he was feeling bad that he didn't get one. I just heard Auntie is sending it to him, I hope it's the right guy, the email timing was right anyhow.

I didn't know you was hankering for one of these although I guess being greedy as you claim to be I should have assumed so.

So now I guess Blue is happy, happy, happy, I'm happy for him and sad for you so it's a wash and your not happy at all.

The price I pay for being a middle half man I guess.

D'oh, I wish I had seen you wanted it before I paid for the thing. I would have pulled a Bawanna and told auntie to give it to you. Sorry! As penance I won't buy another pointy piece of metal for the rest of the week. Ok, for the next 45 minutes at the least.

45 minutes is a long spell for penance, maybe better make it half an hour and 10 minutes is already used up, so only 20 to go. You can do it.

LoL Blue, I was only giving Bawanna a bad time. I am holding out hope I am going to be adding a new little cak to my collection so hopefully it will all be good.

Grats blue. I saw that one pop up but I already have one so I decided not to post. I think that one is the one that was left over from the last batch. They are great lil carving knives!

I don't remember that one in the last batch, I thought they all had the little hoop at the end of the handle like yours and mine. I could be wrong though, I was once before, I think it was spring of 1968, right about this time of year too. Happy anniversary wrong.

You maybe right! Seems like I remember one that didnt sell. I remember one didnt have the hole drilled in the end but Ive been wrong before too. I think it was back in 1971 tho. I could be wrong about that?

I use my Pala knife all the time and keep it in top shape, Thank you Yangdu. How is Pala doing these days? I have wanted to meet you Yangdu and Pala the last two times he was here but you never said I could come meet you both, I was going to ride my Motorcycle down, it would have been fun for us all. My handle was "Original" then.

Good afternoon to ALL,

I will give you up date when they returns to Bhaktapur.
