SOLD, THANKS MIKE!

"PALAVER” in Maple Burl

Palaver-Maple-Comp.jpg

This is a new design just out of the Jarrett Knives shop. It’s the new, Palaver – this one in Maple Burl. I have two more in buffalo horn to be posted shortly.

The Palaver was designed in response to a discussion with an professional hunting guide about how he uses knives in cold weather...specifically for field dressing, skinning, and camp chores while wearing gloves. He wanted a nice wide blade and a recessed handle to make it easy to control and safe to use when your hands are cold. Now of course I made certain that it was 100% comfortable with or without gloves for year ‘round use. He tested four of them this past season and loved them. He claims that they are all he's going to order for his guys for next years hunting season.

Below is an example of my leather work. I’ll be making the sheath for this knife to meet the new buyers’ preference for right or left hand carry and color – brown, black, or brown body with black border.
All my sheaths are made from premium tooling leather, sewn by hand and they come with a full leather belt loop unless the buyer would prefer a belt or boot clip.

What an incredibly useful design, bro! I like the fact that it can be used with or without gloves. Goes to show how much thought and research you put into your designs. I like user knives which look good and this is a winner in my book. When I get this move over with, you and I will be talking!

Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments. I've also received a bunch of emails regarding this piece which always tickles me when I have a new design.

Wayne your first Palaver is now the first hunting knife of my hunting partner and son. He opened it up for his 14th birthday last night and was rightly blown away by the quality of this knife and I was too. He hasn't stopped talking about it.

It was neat how you packaged the knife with a certificate, business card, a couple of Band-Aids and what was really cool was the two page instructions on knife care. I told him to follow your instructions and he could be giving it to his son someday.

All the best,
Mike

Mike - what a great story. I'm glad he likes it. It is the first Palaver sold to the "general public". I have the six originals (four with palm swells and two of the Palaver 2 with finger ledges) in the hands of two professional hunting guides and they claim that this knife is all they are going to use from now on. They loved them and used them all season long only touching them up on a leather strop.

Take care and God Bless - Wayne

How did I miss this one??? lol Congratulations, Mike. Though I have to tell you, in all honesty, once you get one of Wayne's knives, you will be hooked. You've started something, now!

GREAT work, Wayne, on another beautiful knife! The Palaver is absolutely beautiful, including the photography and composition. I like how you put research into your designs and create useful knives which not only perform but look good doing it, like me, lol.
