Since my son is a fan of PAW/Zombie type movies, we decided that we have to check out "I am Legend" when it comes out later this year. Until then we satisfied ourselves with a retro look back at the earlier versions . . "The Last Man on Earth" and "The Omega Man".
As an added bonus the "Last Man" DVD came with a second feature "Panic in Year Zero". Hadn't seen, or even thought about this classic since I was a kid, but it sure was fun to watch this 1962 B&W film version of the aftermath of a nuke attack on L.A.
Ray Milland's take charge, no nonsense survivor role was SUCH a refreshing break from the likes of Tom Cruise. Yeah, there are things that you can criticize, but taken as a whole, it's not too bad survival a primer.
