I have never used one of these before but it didn't take long to get the hang of the basics. There are 2 small air hoses going to the spindle but it looks like they got to close to the drive belts and we're shredded when I got it. What is the air for? Is it for clearing chip's or does the spindle have a ''jack hammer'' Funktion?

Probably for clearing chips.
Note that all the settings on the arms must be exactly the same or the results will be crooked like your test plate.

Thanks I got it straight after playing with it for a while. I hope to pickup some new air hose tomorrow and try it out.

The quills are all different for different things. There are diamond tips that are for rotation, diamond for non-rotation, flat cutters for plastic, etc. Make sure the quill ( the cutter ) is right for what you are engraving.

I took a look at your unit, and that is a commercial grade sign engraver. It goes from 1:1 to 1:100 ratio. It is used to engrave plastic and wood signs mostly. I don't know what they run exactly, but IIRC it is what a TW-90 with a surface grinding attachment cost.

If you haven't got one, order a manual, as there are all sorts of things that are not intuitive to learn.

I don't have any manual for it. It came with a bunch of cutters a few diamond cutters and a bunch of letters. I paid 500 Euros for it . They seem to be priced around 700 to 1000 here. I took it because it was cheep and I know a few people that will take it of my hands if I get bored with it. ☺

Air hose is repaired and working. The air hose allows you to lower and raise the spindle. It makes it much easier to move to the next letter without having to raise or lower the entire table and keeps the cutting depth constant! Looks like I will hold on to this one as long as shop space allows me to anyway ☺
