Pants with a dedicated knife pocket?

Hey Guys,
My favorite pants have a dedicated knife pocket. Here is a photo of my Large Sebenza in there. It's deep enough that if I don't have the clip on the pocket edge the knife would not show at all, just the lanyard. I bought these from REI about 6 years ago and of course they no longer sell them... Does anyone know of pants like this currently available online? I've been searching but to no avail...

511tactical has the tactlite pro but the pocket is on the left side and it's kind of low. I prefer right side and high up...

I think I need to pay a visit to a tailor and have pockets like that added to my pants...

Hmmm...Grease, you may have come up with the easiest and most economical solution. Probably wouldn't be more than $20 to do this to regular cargo pants with large rear pockets. Just order extra length and have them shorten the leg and use the extra cloth to make the knife pocket. Thanks for the idea!

Oh. Er... Yeah. I totally meant to suggest that. :p:D

I was going to say just have someone add one on. Heck, I could do it for you, as long as you aren't worried about it actually working :P

Tru Spec has one on each side. Not too low right about at the fingertips. I wear these for work and like em a lot.

That is a FANTASTIC idea. I love it and will probably go ahead and do just that.

Maprik, thanks for posting this thread, your pants are cool and all that but the ideas that spawned from your pants are pretty sweet.

511 Gear has several styles of pants that incorporate a pocket for a knife or utility too. A bit pricey, but worth it.

TrueSpec has some nice pants with their 24/4-Line, left and right knife pocket. Large enough to hold a Military...

Those Jeans are really nice. Pricey though! I also like having my knife higher where it doesn't bang against my leg when I'm walking or running. The 511 and Tru Spec pockets are just too low for my liking... Must be popular though since so many styles put them at fingertip level...

Tradestar, do you find that the knife bumps against your leg when you are walking or running?

I don't know of any other pants that have a pocket like that, however, I did just buy a pair of Carhartt shorts that have a cordura reinforced section on the pocket where knives with pocket clips seat. Pretty nice. My most aggressive G-10 knives dont even phase it.

Check out Duluth trading company, they may have something.

All of my pants have knife pockets:

And sometimes I can fit a cellphone in there too but with a knife like the PM2 that has a wide blade and sharp jimping it can be treacherous to get the cellphone out in a hurry. I've had the same problem with my Blur and its shark-tooth thumb stud.

I don't have a problem carrying my normal folding knife, what I need are more pockets for carrying all of my other EDC junk.
