Paper label!! My own

I think it is GREAT !!! I also agree if it says restoration somewhere on it , there is no issue. Its not like Home Depot can put their label on a shovel made by Bully Tools unless it is agreed upon by the maker.

I still believe in this 'strange-weird-thing called freedom, personal sovereignty, and personal responsibility...

I hear ya, Brother bear. However, personal responsibility ought to include following the laws of the land and more importantly respecting the property of others.

The label is snazzy, no doubt. Clarifying the label is the right thing to do.

Coop said he is only selling to a select few people he knows. If I drew up a label and put it on my axes, while it may be illegal, its not likely to be an issue since my output of axes is under 2 per year. Moonshiners who make it for friends and family dont get caught as often as the ones trying to make scrilla, and this isnt even a drop in the ocean compared to that. File me as a lawyer hater and an anarchist-- I dont see the problem here at all. IF any current manufacturers took issue, I would think they would let him know before trying to sue or something like that.

Wow. Didn't know I get so much flack on here. I'm not acting like I made these nor am I selling them worldwide. That said, I will be having the label altered to put restorations on it in small print.

I'm sorry I posted this thread.

"Flak" is one way to look at it. Friends giving you input on an idea you presented to them is another.

I hope u don't see it as flak - not intended that way - but if you put your items on forum then we should do our best to help you if we see potential issues. I like your labels and like what you are doing - heck I do the same thing (without the label of course) - restore and sell/give away axes. It's a neat thing to do that many of us enjoy. I very highly doubt Collins parent company from Mexico is going to bring the lawdogs on a guy from NH selling a few axes per year. Heck they would probably love their name being out there more.

What you are doing brings more light and info into the world of axes, restoration, and fun. And that's a good thing. I am sure we all hope you keep it up and have success with it.

He is simply putting the name of his "Business" on the axe, not saying he made it, just like if walmart put a sticker that said walmart on a shirt, they aren't taking credit for making the shirt, they're just saying "Hey, you got this at walmart."

Would "Works" pass (Instead of restoration). I'm not looking for legal advice but just wondering if that's vague enough. I'm not worried about putting restoration but it's space issue.

Label looks very nice. I see it as the same as a guy selling cars as in.............Bobs Cars for sale, come on down.

It's a great-looking label. I would use it as-is, since the axe makers already got paid for the old axes, and it's not like the label is trying to look like another company's trademark (this is not like faking a Collins label to get more sales).

Like I said, this is what I would do; it's not legal advice.

My friend finalized the logo. I think it looks great. It will be a nice addition to the axes I make for friends and family.
