Noctis, did you put some wax on your grit wheel? It will slow the cutting action down a lot and help the blade stay cooler. First time I used my grit wheel, I didn't know that and wore down the edge quickly.

Yes, but I think I applied the wax incorrectly, by having the wheel spinning on the motor rather than by hand. The result is that the wax is uneven, with a solid chunk of wax on one part of the wheel covering the grit entirely while the other parts have no wax at all. I'll fix that in short order when I sharpen the scissors.
