• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

paper wheels

This isn't the best pic of the edge but it is a knife that Richard made for me. The edge is unreal!

Some of those edges look cloudy im looking for a way to get a insanely reflective edge so far ep or we prob ep with chosera stones

Do you want your edges to look pretty or to cut well? That makes a huge difference in what you use to "sharpen" them with.

I can't figure out why the latest craze in knife sharpening is mirror edges :D Knives can be just as sharp and not have the mirror edge. I think its for looks only.

it is it llooks divine and acually with the mirror it will have less teeth because of the grit size of the last stone or paper wheel (idk anything about pw) so finer edge = easier puch cuts
toothy edge = good slicing and utility but edge likley to be lost faster im not trying to sound smug or anything :D

More or less. Plus the mirror edge would be more impressive(or intimidating) to non-knife people given that 99.9% of them have probably never seen a knife edge sharpened to the point where they can see their own reflections on it.

Function-wise I feel having more teeth allows for better slicing cuts and may even reduce some damage on the edge as the edge won't be pushing directly against what you're cutting(I find this helps immensely when cutting plastic ties).

Though a mirror edge is pretty good when cutting fruits, vegetables, and meat. Hell, I never had much problem slicing french bread with a mirror edge.

Appearance-wise, the Edge Pro or Wicked Edge should give the most impressive looking mirror polished edges. On paper wheels and the worksharp, the edge would be slightly convexed or uneven, making the reflection look like a funhouse mirror reflection, all distorted and the like.

Now thats a nice miiror edge but just a prefrance im not to big on power sharpening i like tp slicing edges altho i will give paper whes a try

the wheels are not hard to learn how to use and they are not hard on an edge like some say. it just takes some common sense and practice in using them :D.
