Para 2 centering

Most if not all of my spydferco's have off center blades. With the exception of the street beat and the bush craft knife. ;)

Does it bother me? ya kinda.

Can I live with it? Yes.

If has zero ill effect on how the knife performs.

Is it all right for the money you paid? It wouldn't bother me if got for half of the price.

To be honest, and this is just my opinion, if it were not for forums like this calling my attention to things like "centeredness," I don't think I'd ever notice a lack of it on any of my knives unless it were extreme enough to cause the blade to rub on one side or the other. Of course these things are the stuff of personal preference -- I'm just voicing mine (or rather my lack of one).

I haven't observed Spyderco centering as any better or worse than the other manufacturers. I have had off center blades form all the big names, with the exception of Emerson.

I guess this is just due to the quality control of mass produced blades...I've had a bunch of Spyderco and BM and with the exception of a handful they have all had their issues. This is just what happens w/ the sub $300 knife market (US Made or not).

Thats odd, because all of my Spyderco folders have perfectly centered blades.
On the other hand, most if not all of my BMs have off centered blades.

I find that a lot of FFG blades tend to have slightly varying grind angles from the tang down to the point when comparing the left and right side of the blade. Since there's always a human element with grinds, it's always there to some degree. These variances show up as "uncentered" blades.

The only way to tell for sure would be to remove the blade, lay it down on a truly flat surface and compare the clearances of either sides.
