Para 2 Questions

Thanks for everyone's answers. I'll have to find something else. It's too bad because I really like the compression lock.

Special coming soon people that like to pry stuff edition.

I'm that guy. You peel bark; you don't pry it.
Fair point but the physical motion is that of prying. You jam the knife in and you pry it up. Sometimes to get to what's under it, sometimes to get the bark up for tinder (like on a dead tree).

Really? Good to know! Why? Thicker blade? Better steel than the Para 2?

Does it have a compression lock? I'll look it up.
PM2 tip is for delicate work... it's pointy!

The Shaman is a wonderful blade and stocky!
Yes, compression lock.
Better steel, depending on what model you get. No different than a PM2.

Yeah I'm looking them up now. Seems like the same shit S30 steel though. I don't want anything I can't sharpen on a river rock. But really it's the price that might keep me away ($300!). But I like that it's beefier and has the compression lock!

So I recommend a Jimmy Lile knife , I read your other thread , if I were concerned about the weight of things I would lose 2 pounds and carry which ever knife I want , up to 2 pounds, I wouldn’t notice any difference. Para 2 is a great knife that will last probably longer than me and if I snapped the tip then I could pry as much as I want without further worry

Just curious on why you think S30V is so poor in your opinion. It's been a perfectly serviceable knife steel for me, albeit not my favorite.

The Shaman is 230$.. foundd a dealer still selling for 210$.. for s30v..

I carry a TPK Raptor, for outdoors. Not a chance, you break the tip on one. (Not doing what you're doing good with it.)

I think a pm2 will be fine for what your doing. The tip isn't delicate, it's steel and well made steel.

I have a pm2 and I really like it, its a great knife. Everyone is just parroting the knives aren't cro bars thing.
You should get what appeals to you.
