Does the Para 2 have a "weak" tip?
What is the use case for a Para 2?
Can you beat it up and pry with it?

Get a Shaman...Thanks for everyone's answers. I'll have to find something else. It's too bad because I really like the compression lock.
Really? Good to know! Why? Thicker blade? Better steel than the Para 2?The Shaman would handle it, better than most.
We're talking about prying *bark* not steel here. But I get what you're saying. Not that any knife is for prying
Fair point but the physical motion is that of prying. You jam the knife in and you pry it up. Sometimes to get to what's under it, sometimes to get the bark up for tinder (like on a dead tree).I'm that guy. You peel bark; you don't pry it.
PM2 tip is for delicate work... it's pointy!Really? Good to know! Why? Thicker blade? Better steel than the Para 2?
Does it have a compression lock? I'll look it up.
Yeah I'm looking them up now. Seems like the same shit S30 steel though. I don't want anything I can't sharpen on a river rock. But really it's the price that might keep me away ($300!). But I like that it's beefier and has the compression lock! The Shaman is a wonderful blade and stocky!
Just curious on why you think S30V is so poor in your opinion. It's been a perfectly serviceable knife steel for me, albeit not my favorite.Yeah I'm looking them up now. Seems like the same shit S30 steel though. I don't want anything I can't sharpen on a river rock. But really it's the price that might keep me away ($300!).
