Para 2 upgrade recommendations needed!

So I love my s30v Pm2. So since I love it so much I want something with upgraded materials that may better suit my needs. My knives get used a lot for work. I do electrical work so I cut a lot of large gauge wire sheathing and insulation. G10 is definitely my preferred scale material. Looking for a steel though that will hold up well if dinged into something hard or cutting against it. So what sprint run do you recommend I go after?

What sharpening system do you use? For an all around great Edc Id recommend the S35V or Elmax.
Edit: this is assuming you don't want M4 which would be my first choice also.

I just have one of those broomstick la sky sharpener that I touch up on. Haven't really felt a need for much else yet. Sharpmaker will probably be purchased prior to a new Pm2. I don't know if I'd have a ton of interest in the s35vn model. Didn't notice a substantial difference in it to justify paying more. I'm interested in the ELMAX version however. Also have seen a lot floating around that are cts·204p, but don't have any knowledge on the abilities of it.

I hear ya, to each his own. Personally I like the CF on my GB, Sage 1 and Chaparral. If M4 floats your boat though, I suppose you could always do a scale swap. It has an excellent reputation for keeping a strong working edge in cutting tasks. I bet you could recoup some of the money by selling the CF scales on the secondary market, too.

Didn't think of that. I'll have to check if KW`s has released the price yet.or a swap from base model could be cool. Black blade with carbon fiber sounds appealing.

These are your best bets for a PM2.

In your shoes I would be looking for a Manix 2 in Cruwear, or one of the older ones in M4.
The sprint manix are milled liners correct? I don't carry my manix as much due to weight and bulkiness

Cruwear PM2.
...oh wait, where is that one? :p

Or get a Gayle Bradley, just to add some range to your quiver.

Haha yep, can always count on Friar to recommend to get the Taichung Texas knife. :D

Yeah, Cruwear Manix 2 is noticeably lighter than regular Manix, but still noticeably heavier than PM2.

Or... test your boundaries (if legal size there) and pick up a Cruwear Millie and see how you like it. I'll bet it converts you and seduces your pocket and slips right in.
...another plus is that it can occasionally be found for a decent bit cheaper than the Elmax PM2.

The Military is legal size in Texas.
Oh yeah, I love my big happy gun and knife friendly state of Texas. Gayle Bradley is on the list but I want either a Pm2 or Manix 2 upgrade. All have really considered looking into a Military and may pay a little more attention to them before I decide to buy anything

By bringing up the idea of a Millie I was scoping out the Exchange and found the M4/Ti Military. Yet another on the radar and wishlist. They need a label on the boxes from the surgeon General saying "Spydercos are like Crack, open at your own risk" lol

Where are you getting this information!? I would love an m4 spyderco. just copped a Perrin PPT in black so I recommend that If you're looking for a good sprint run work horse.
