Para 2, which color combo?

Hey everyone,

I already know I want the spyderco Para 2, but I don't know which color handle scales and if I need the black coating on the blade.

What do you think?
 
You don't need the black coating. It's purely decorative.

As for the color of the scales, I suggest getting a color you like. :D
 
i agree with marcinek. the black coat is purely decorative. however, i still went for the black coated version just because i love the used look of a DLC coating. my para2 is black blade with camo handle =)
 
I have a run of the mill Para-2..(Black G-10, Satin Blade). I LOVE it. You may want to pick up a sprint Para-2 coming out (Brown G-10, Special Steel);
 
black blade only if you need rust protection....or just like the look. if you've never had a using knife rust on you, then likely you wont' need it for rust protection.

scale color....i like the black standard, more than the digi camo, but that's me.
 
My first Para2 was digi-camo with a satin blade. I liked it so much that within a week I bought a black one with satin blade. I don't care for blade coatings. That being said, the digi-camo is my favorite.
 
I'm a big digi camo fan, so that would be my choice on the scale color. As for the blade, I generally prefer satin blades but don't mind black coatings if they're well-done (i.e., none of this shiny black teflon business like on Cold Steel's otherwise excellent Lawman and Recon 1). DLC, which is the black coating used on the Para 2, generally seems to be the best of the bunch in terms of being a coating that's durable and resistant to scratches. One thing I prefer about the black-bladed versions isn't the blade itself, but rather the clip, which is also black and therefore a bit less attention-grabbing than the silver clip that comes on the satin-bladed versions.

Deciding what colour combination you want on your Paramilitary 2 can be a tough and complex decision. In order to ease the process, I've developed this handy two-step guide:

Step One: Look at all the colour options.
Step Two: Buy the one you like best.
 
Congrats, you'll surely enjoy it. I have had 5 Paras now, 1 CPMD2, 2 DIGI Para 1s with each a satin & DLC, 2 Para 2s Black/satin Digicam/DLC. I like them all but the Marine in me really likes the Digicam/black combo as it just makes sense as a scheme.

its very simple...i would get a every single different para 2 i can get my hands on and then figure which to carry everyday
