Was just wondering still how is this knife as popular as it is but yet it's put out as a flimsy knife maybe I need to hold one for my on op

What do you mean by flimsy? The thin distal taper of the blade?

I agree! it cant pry open a door! so flimsy, having no bladeplay doesnt make it sturdy! I put some to pry up my car to change a wheel and the tip broke! Worst Jack I ever bought, then again if you consider using it as a knife, that will be beautiful

I was just about to buy one because it seemed like a tough built EDC option that looked cool... Hrmmm, I must rethink my life now.

It is a nice knife to use as a knife. It is light. It is easy and smooth to operate. It fits most peoples' hands well and the blade is a good size for EDC. It is NOT a heavy duty knife that you can pry doors open with. You can buy knives with thicker blades that look like you could pry with them. A lot of popular carry knives aren't going to be any stronger, such as the Benchmade AFCK, Spyderco Delica or Endura, Kershaw Leek. Even some knives thought of to be heavy duty will probably have tips break off just as easily as the Para 2. But the heavier duty knives will be heavier to carry, they may not open as smoothly, and with thicker blades they likely will not slice as well. If you want a quality knife that would be tougher then I would suggest a ZT or a Benchmade Adamas.

I have carried a variety of Spyderco/Benchmade/Kershaw knives for EDC over the past 20 years and I think the Para 2 is about as strong as any of them so I don't worry about carrying it.

I can honestly say, if I had to choose one production blade to handle my EDC roles, the para2 would be the one I choose.

IMHO - the Para 2 is a good slicer, medium duty EDC. I would not characterize it as flimsy. It rides in the pocket well, light weight, good g-10, good steel (s30v on standard model), and good ergos. I would carry it around and use it for normal daily tasks. However, I choose something else when headed to the woods.

Pretty sad when people feel compelled to provide an opinion on something they've never had any experience with.

Word!

I just got my first Para 2 this past weekend and it hasnt left my side yet! Its such a awesome blade, the blade came centered, no play and sharp as hell. Couldnt be more pleased for $100.

But, but he could have seen in on youtube. That would instantly make him an expert, because we all know these kids making the vids know much more than any knife company, or knife maker.

:p

There is nothing flimsy about the Paramilitary 2. It's a knife, first and foremost.

I just got my first military last night, M390, and it rocks. I've carried an endura for years and it still seems huge, but it rides great in my pocket. I am going to get a PM2 but I can't decide which steel I want vs how much money and effort I want to put into it. How does the compression lock feel left handed? looks like it would be pretty easy.

It wouldn't be one of the most popular production knives today if it was flimsy. What was your motive in starting this thread?

I seriously need to check one of these out.

When you look at EDC threads on most knife forums, the para 2 is one of the most commonly edc'd blades out there.

I actually really like the para 2 blade shape for my edc tasks. I have a superleaf, ZT0350, Kershaw OD-1 and BM Mini Grip, but I always seem to go back to my Spyderco endura 4 in FFG for edc. The spear point leaf lends itself to most of my edc tasks.

I love my Para 2s. Yes, I have more than one. Never had a problem with them at all. Hands down my favorite EDC blade.

If you don't own one how can you comment and if I offended anyone with my earlier comments I apoligize
