Para 2

If you don't own one how can you fu@#$5 coment you dumb bastard you don't know a damn thing about a well made knife, whats better your cold stell something or other or your thick overbuilt knife that can't cut for jack. As I write this I have one in my pocket that's never been sharpened only honed but could prob whittle nats ass hairs:p

Might want to lighten up on the personal insults.

My superleaf has some ever so slight up and down blade play. Is this common with compression locks? Do any of you have this problem with your para 2's?

The design and build quality of the Para2 is quite good. While the blade might look thin compared to some of the overbuilt heavy folders, I think you'll find it excels at cutting. Spyderco will be happy to sell you a Superleaf if you want a thicker blade.

Jeez folks, lets all take a deep breath, no need to assume the OP is trolling!

As you can see, the Para has many fans, IMO it is very well built and designed, great ergos, many people consider the compression lock to be the very best available. It's designed for cutting/slicing and so not as thick, especially at the tip, as some other blades, so if you want something to pry with it's not the best choice but as most will say, if you're going to pry heavily use a screwdriver or crowbar.

Folks, there is no need to shoot personal insults at one another. Keep it civil or the discussion will be locked. Discuss the topic, not one another.

Just got mine and so for all I can say is I love this knife no I will not pry a door or anything with it because it's a knife and for the money it might just be the best knife you can get strong fits perfect in the hand just great. I can pay 300 for a zt560 witch I'm thinking of getting and still not pry a door with it why because it's a knife get it you €€€€€€€€€.

i apoligize for my earlier remarks I was upset as its one of my favorites and it is such a great knife it deserves to be defended again sorry for being rude in my previous comments and the Para2 is one of the meanest production slicers you can buy

If the Para 2 is too flimsy for you, get a fixed blade. I haven't used too many folders as solidly locked up as the Para 2.

I tend to think my Para 2 comes to a razor type of edge, but its not like a razor blade in the sense of being disposable, in fact if your were to use a carpenters grade razor blade to be "durable" in some ways that it wasn't designed for, I'd recommend safety goggles or glasses. As for it being like a razor blade, I can get the edge pretty sharp (not hair whittling though).

For someone saying that their a knuckledragrer when it comes to knives,I would just assume that you want a blade at your price point that is replaceable but sturdy. The Enduras have liners in them, and the full flat grind makes them awesome slicers, but maybe you want the saber ground and lock-back for stirring mud or whatever? I guess I should say -whatever your knuckles drag across-

My idea of "perfect" EDC's consists of Para2 and Military models in good steels. If you also want to be able to use it as a pry-bar, buy a Zero Tolerance or an Emerson.

Come on... Everyone knows TOPS makes the best prybar knife. They even named it Pry Knife. :D

But on topic: I seriously doubt a flimsy knife would be one of the most popular production knives available.

Or just buy a pry bar :D

Yup.
