I just ordered the exclusive to ridiculously try out m4 steel.
I've read alot of good things about m4 so I wanted to give it a whirl.

I haven't tried the lw models before, hopefully it will be a comfortable knife.
I felt the price was nice for the offering.

Opinions?

Didn’t get the M4, but currently has a para 3 LW clipped to my shorts pocket.
Love it.

Sharp enough to shave at BD1N. Full flat grind. Deep wire clip. Compression lock.

Love it enough to try to drag my former manager into the Spydie world with one. He used to have a shitty gas station liner lock folder. He commented about how sharp it was when I gave it to him and he started playing with it.

I’d be interested to know the difference between the steels for the para 3 lw

Your opinion is the only one that counts since you bought it. I like M4, it’s a steel that’s been proven and is a well balanced steel. Depending on your environment, M4 will patina fairly quick if you neglect it. Sharpens up without a lot of effort and will hold an edge for a long time. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with it.

I may force a patina or let it develop naturally.
Easy sharpening and a nice edge holding steel is right up my alley.

I get what you are saying about it's what I like.
Kinda just fishing for other people's opinions on it.

I carry a St. Nicks Para3 M390 LW from time to time and like it due to the weight and steel. What I don’t care for in all of the Para3 LW’s is the handle. Not nearly as good a grip as the other Spyderco FRN models provide. (Delica, Endura, etc,) Has always felt rather slick to me. I’ve sold off 2 or 3 other Para3 LW’s because of this.

Can't beat the price of the BHQ M4 exclusive! While I prefer the G10 Para 3, The lightweight is a great knife that offers solid performance. Congrats

Looking forward to trying it out !
I have a feeling it's going to follow me around for a week or two straight.

It is another great small Spyderco knife.

Like mentioned above, it has less grippy texturing.

Plus it is a good idea to constantly check it, when carrying it in pocket.

As I found it clipped very loose and it didn't stay put very well.

Got the original BD1N and the new M4. My favorite edc knife by far. Super light and I can manipulate different grips due to the handle and forward choil. The compression lock takes some breaking in before it drops shut but only takes a week or so of fidgeting.

I have a 20CV KJ P3LW and absolutely love it. It impressed me more than I expected - SUPER ergonomic and flickable.

I wish they would make a version of the Para 3 G10 with the wire clip and removed lanyard hole. I really like the LW but I want G10.

I returned my Para3 LW because of the handle as well. Slipped out of my hand a couple times. Will likely replace with a G10 version down the road. Love my PM2 with G10.

While I prefer the G10 version too, I've used sandpaper to "texture" the slick parts of the P3LW scales.

The Para 3 G-10 comes with two washers where the LW comes with one. I really don't like blade play.

Another reason I like the G10 version (at least on my PM2) is the steel liners. Feels rock solid where as the Para 3 LW had a little flex to it.

I picked up two of the recent Para 3 sprints and am really enjoying them. The handles are a tad slick and both have a hint of side to side play, not bothered by either issues. My only real complaint was that I had to knock down some sharpish edges along the handle with a sharpmaker rod.
