Will we be seeing the Paramilitary 2 this year? Will the para finally be available with an integral compression lock? How about orange g-10? I would really love to see both this year!!! Anyone else?

Don't know anything about the Para 2 but am very excited to see what it's about!

I had read that there would be refinements to the Para, culminating in the Para 2, before there would be another one released. I am hoping for an integral lock/Ti version and an Orange G-10 version... It's unfortunately not mentioned in the 2010 catalog, which is why I started this thread.

I am hoping for more clip position options. Would love to hear any news on this.

full ti framelock/RIL lock Para would be my grail, but a refinement to the clip to allow deep pocket carry please....

I'll be waiting for the "high performance" sprint run of the Para II. Hopefully we'll see S90V used, S30V has never served my work needs well.
I'd be dead keen to get my hands on a Integral compression lock version as seen on the ATR ,although I doubt something like that will happen any time soon, but hey we can dream. I cant say that a RIL version would interest me in any way at all IMO that would be like taking three steps backwards.

Oh I almost forgot... I'm sure Sal has stated elsewhere that the Para II will have a 4 way clip, and he was looking at trying to implement some form of "assisted closing" something akin to the feel of a back lock close.

It's a tradeoff like all steels. In comparison to S90V it doesn't have as many vanadium carbides, so it's less wear-resistant. This makes it
-Cheaper
-Easier to sharpen (not really a "pro" for me)
-But doesn't have the edge retention for forever.

I prefer VG10 to S30V really.

Really? In my mind S30V is similar to VG10 except notably better in all performance aspects, save maybe corrosion resistance.

I agree, if want a steel that easy to sharpen etc, I'd much rather go with Vg10
I like how a damaged edge with VG10 tends to roll rather than chip.

I always go for hard high performance steels at work, as I ask a lot of my knives during the working day and simply don't have any time to sharpen them until I'm home. CPM 440V, CPM S90V and CPM D2 have all worked really well for me so far, now I'm trying out CPM M4 :D

I'd heard that S30V is a tad less corrosion resistant, and a tad more wear resistant.

I've noticed both and prefer VG10.
