Para Military or Emerson?

I have a wide hand and find my fingers crunhed together with the Para. The Millie fits me to perfection as do most of the Emersons. Therfore, I'd recomend choosing whichever fits your had the best.

Thus far, everyone has provided excellent, well thought-out, and thorough information for me to consider. Thanks!

I am still undecided as all the posts seem to balance out and you guys are so passionate as to what you have chosen.

Right now, I am still favoring the Para Mil slightly, then I could always try an Emerson later on, down the line.

I just bookmarked the Google/BF search above.........good info!

Have you considered the specs of each possible knife? I find it helpul when choosing a knife to take the following into consideration:

-Are there any blade length laws which could affect my potential carrying?
-How big of a blade do I want?
-How long of a handle am I comfortable wearing daily?

These three things are always important to me in a new-knife search. I'm fond of bigger blades; a 4" blade is the ideal EDC length for me, but I don't like handle much longer than 5". Knowing that helps me narrow down the field considerably.

well, however the right way to do it is.. the Spyderco waves are a lot easier.

i suppose they wave as well, i dont know about better/easier though.

imho the size of the wave doesnt matter very much, i can wave my SOCFK as fast as any and its got one of the smaller waves.

The Para is a real workhorse and carries slim yet is a substantial knife when opened. When you get it 'tip up' it is a great fast draw blade too.

I have my Para in my pocket right now, it is by far my favorite EDC option. If you do decide to get it, I suggest you grab the D2 Foliage Green Sprint run as they will be difficult to find in the future. Also, whatever price you get it for, add 30 bucks to the total and just ship that thing straight to Steve Rice. Best damn clip you will ever have.

Not just playing devil's advocate. The Emerson is going to be be much beefier. The Para feels like a knife in the hand and the Emerson--- a tool. Talkin bout the CQC tanto.... I really like the g10 scales and like a tanto point and the chisel grind. It's easier to sharpen up really quickly. The Wave can be removed easily. It's always cool to take a production knife and tweak it to your preferences, no?
