Para2 or Citadel

Do you have a link for confirmation? I've read conflicting reports on this. The GA carry web site indicates otherwise, but I've been unable to determine if they're right.

Oops - it looks like I'm derailing this thread. Sorry!

Spectre - what did you order for $90? The Para 2 or the Citadel?

Yeh i've been finding mixed answers too this link says it's legal to carry them openly but not concealed: http://thefiringline.com/library/blades/knifelaws.html

I found one at work that said no period but I cant seem to find that one.

Then I found this that says no but it's old data it seem: http://www.amatecon.com/switchblade.html

Ken,

Isn't it lawful to carry an automatic knife in GA if you have a GA "Pistol Permit"?

It's now called Conceal Weapon Permit, and covers knives.

Nope, not in GA. Carry is illegal with or without a permit unfortunately.

Not positive, but I think the change of name and coverage of the permit now allows autos.

EDIT: This was a recent change (last year IIRC) so online references may not be up to date.

One person told me it even covers sword canes, but I'm not convinced on that one...could be pushing things a bit.

EDIT2: Up till now, you had a huge mix of conflicting laws on knives in Georgia. State vs. counties vs. cities. Thanks to a lot of folks work, including KnifeRights, beginning July 1, 2012. The GA state laws trump all local laws, so things should get a bit easier to understand soon.

Now is the time if you're going to buy a Citadel. Its discontinued and being discounted by a lot of online retailers. The PM2 is standard production. I prefer my Citadel over my PM2...but the PM2 is more sheeple friendly. If you're looking for a satin Citadel...good luck...I've been looking and have yet to come across one. Mine is 92mm and all black.

Talked to Sal at Blade and if I understood correctly, there may be a new revised Citadel later this year or in 2013.
Very good news. I look forward to it.

That's good to hear. I've thought about getting a Citadel several times, but have read some reports about lock problems.

I have seen some discussion of the safety being loose or "rattling" a bit, annoying but still functioning fine.
Have not seen anything about any failure to lock up.

My Citadel and Embassy are flawless, and the sharpest out-of-the-box knives I've ever received.
Darn nice knives for a rather remarkable price for US made knife.

Of course the Para2 is a great knife, really hard to pick between them if you have to choose just one.

The Citadel sure is a nice looking knife. I like the looks of the handle on the Citadel more than the Embassy, but have read good things about the Embassy. I mostly like that the blade has more belly on the Citadel.

I might still get a Citadel. Good to know the problem is not with all of them, although I read a gentleman say his was good for a while and developed some kind of problem later. Maybe I shouldn't have said lock. I thought I had read of issues with the release button, though, which is why I mentioned the lock. Is this not the case? I have read of issues with the safety, though.

It was kind of an impulse buy. Word on the street is Spyderco is planning on rereleasing the Citadel next year with some changes.
