I bought a huge roll of green paracord several years back. I use System Three Clear Coat resin. You can use most any epoxy, but Clear Coat is tops as far as I'm concerned. Thin it down fairly thin , and don't put too much on. It is supposed to make the handle wrap stay put, not coat it.
If you want some green paracord, I'd be glad to send you some. A couple of yeas ago I gave away about ten boxes of 50-100' lengths to makers from the Philippines, Canada, Mexico, and several places in the USA.

As far as where to buy it, there are lots of suppliers. Ebay is probably full of it,too. It comes in all kinds of colors.Do a google search for "paracord" or "550 paracord". The full name of the better stuff is "550 seven strand paracord". Surplus stores often have rolls of it.

You can use it as is, or pull out the core for a lower profile wrap. With the core out, you can even do Japanese style handles with it.

Send me an email with your shipping address and I'll send you some.

aka 550 cord, try a surplus store, Ranger Joes or US Cavalry or basically any military, surplus place. You could also try Eagles of War.

Those are a couple of places I could think of (not sure if Ranger Rags has a website).
