Paracord bootlace knot?

My daily boots go through a lot of laces, so I tried paracord. Strong as heck, as we all know. Problem is, the regular bow-tie knot tends to slip and loosen over time.
Any suggestions on a good knot that stays put, yet easy to untie ??
I am using a surgeon's knot , but it can be tough to untie quickly.

Thanks.

slip knot and wrap up the other end so it doesn't un-slip then when you want to take them off just unravel one end and slip the knot over. ? I hope that makes sense...

I tried paracord on my jungle boots and gave up. The surplus stores usually have HD boot laces that work well and last.

I use a regular shoe knot but go round the bow twice before tightening if that makes sense !!!

I used 550 for many years as shoelace. Tie a square knot in it. Cut and seal approx 4-5" after you have tied the knot. Tuck the two "tails" into your boot top. It almost never comes loose and one pair will last forever.

Double knot works for me, just like a regular bow, but i double wrap during the "swoop it" stage. I wear 10' on each boot, just in case i need some 1 lace is long enough for 2 boots.

+1  This is the one I use all the time as well. Works particularly good on "slippery" types of cord.

Glad everyone understands that cos I hit a blank once I started trying to explain it !:o

It may sound silly, but make sure you know the difference between a square/reef knot and a granny knot. I discovered the distinction after months of frustration with a pair of shoes with slippery laces.

The Scottish knot is what I teach to keep 550 cord tied on boots. It just takes one extra step on the std shoelace knot and it never loosens before you want it to. See also "ians knot". It is the same thing.

This was going to be my suggestion as well. This is the only thing that I found that would work to keep the boots tied up securely.

Another vote for the double shoe lace knot. Double under for the first bit then double over with the bows holds tight and releases easy.
As for laces I use 3mm Elrid cord ( climbing rope, accessory cord)
I have had the same pair of laces go through three pairs of boots.

i got tired of lacing/unlacing. Cord-locks is my solution. Takes little experimentation to get the tail ends the right lenght but sure is nice when trying to get going at 3am (sans coffee!) a quick tug/slide and their on and stay put..even thru mud n rain.
