Paracord handles for a machete?

i just got a tomahawk brand(i know,crap brand) machete with a paracord handle.My question is,is a paracord handle strong enough to withstanding chopping?i wouldnt like to have the handle to come apart when i need it.
 
Depends on how tightly you wrap it. :)

If you're dissatisfied with it, you could always take a lighter and melt it together a bit.
