Paracord knot tying,,,help!!

Greetings; new to the board here and have tried the FAQ section to find this info to no avail...specifically I'm looking for instructions(link??) to tie ,for lack of better term, a Chris Reeves type barrel knot to finish off a lanyard to a Boker mini-smachette. Any help would be appreciated. The best attempt I've made at this knot results in a hangmans noose that slides.
