Does anyone who has a Paragon 14 KM series oven with the 2400 deg. elements have problems at holding temps?

I can get mine to hold at 1930 deg. within 1 deg., but anything less it just will not hold within several (8-15 +/-) degs.

Just need ammo with Paragon.

Thanks for any info.

I have the km24 and it seems to hold around +- 4 to 6 deg.. I figuered this may just be the norm. I wish it was just 1 deg.

Guys
First let me say I don't own nor have I used a Paragon. However, most controllers have an adjustable hysteresis ( how many degrees swing between when the controller turns off and when it turns on again) i.e. if you have the set point set at 1650°F and the hysteresis is set at 5° the controller won't turn on the heating elements until the temperature drops back down to 1645°. You can also throw in a chunk of 1/2" plate to act as thermal mass. The over won't heat up as fast, but temperatures usually drift slower the more thermal mass you have.

Gerry,

My km 14d is a 110 volt 2000 degree oven but it has no trouble holding to within +_3 DEGREES. I just got a km45d with 2400 degree coils in it. I have only used it twice so far and it has held 1550 and 1475 degrees at +_2 degrees for each temperature. I have not heated it over 1550 degrees so far.
