Hey folks,
I pre- ordered two DLC black Paramilitary 2's back in July and am still waiting but wondering about changing the order for a couple of Benchmades! There must be a few guys here who struggled through the delay?

I'm not sure where you preordered them from.... That is a long time to wait. I got mine when they popped up in stock. I can tell you personally it's my favorite knife ever so maybe it's worth the wait?

Sorry about you luck. My local knife shop has had Para's, including dlc/black, in stock pretty consistently for over a year.

Wish I could tell you where, but they're not a paid dealer here and I gotta follow the roolz.

I lucked out on the exchange and got an excellent deal. Wasn't even really looking for one to be honest, nor can I be bothered to browse on the off chance they might be in stock. It's definitely an awesome knife for the money though. Try emailing whoever you ordered with?

Is it too late to cancel your order? That is a very long time, but hang in there, buddy. I would contact whomever you ordered these from & ask for a status update...CALL THEM (don't email).

There are so many great deals to be found here on the sales forum. I picked an all black PM2 up here not long ago for around $110.

I love Benchmade knives also...but PLEASE, don't give up on getting a PM2. IMO, I think that they are one of the most perfect knives, period!

That's a long wait. I've owned about 5 and always sold them. I don't like the one hand closing with that lock and how the blade pops out of the handle on you when doing so. Score one good Axis lock (Stryker, Rift, or 710) and enjoy that sucker immediately. Maybe the capacity for building knives will increase in Colorado someday, and then you can just buy one without pre-orders.

Good luck in your decision. Pics whatever you do! :D

Edit to add: If you want to try an Axis for around the $100 mark, scoop up the Benchmade H&K 14715. G10, full liners, beefy D2 blade. I just purchased one as a gift for a friend and it is lot of knife for a hundo

I don't like black handles or blades, personally. Which I suppose worked in my favor. I ordered the regular digicam model from BladeHQ last Saturday, and received it yesterday (Saturday of the following week). It's nice, no doubt.

Generally I don't preorder - I bookmark my favorite dealers and check them every day for stock. When they show up in stock, I buy. This almost always leads to me getting the knife faster than a blind preorder and then just waiting it out. Of course if the delay is 100% the manufacturer, this won't help. I recently waited a couple of monthsfor the s110v Manix, and that delay was because Spyderco had none to offer to dealers. YMMV.

I had a black one for a couple of years, I just sold it, I just didn't carry it. I don't know why it just didn't really grab me I kept my Manix 2, Military which I do still use and a couple of other Spyderco's that are getting hard to come by. Honestly I think I found it a little too light weight and the blade a little thin, I have a Mini CQC15 that now takes the Para2's spot in my rotation and for me it's better.

The problem might be with the store itself and not necessarily Spyderco. I always shop around, until I find what I want. I stopped preordering from certain stores because the wait time was insane.

If I decoded the date right, the knife I received yesterday is from this month. I have to imagine that RedDevil is correct. Did you pay for both knives already, or just a deposit?

National knives have some models is stock and I believe they are a bladeforums sponsor.
