I don't think I am breaking any rules by mentioning this, since I won't list any specific sellers, but if you are in the market for a PM2, some sites seem to have received shipments of the silver blade versions in the last few days (at realistic prices), so start looking fast, I haven't checked if they are sold out yet...

(Just ordered my third...)

I have been surfing the net just now, Amazon and Ebay are the only ones I saw. If they are out there, they aren't easily found.

I already have one and a family member is trying to put another one off on me if I will give him my Chaparral and $20. Don't know if I should part with my Chap though.

Well, I just checked the two sites that had them YESTERDAY (and I think even the day before) and they are both SOLD OUT today. BUT... the fact that those two sites HAD THEM tends to make me think it would be worthwhile watching other sites for them if you are wanting one, since apparently SpyderCo is shipping some out (and I am NOT talking about Amazon or eBay, which are often inexpensive places to buy knives, but not the PM2, though I got my first one on Amazon after being on the first wait list for MONTHS)... I will say that I am talking about at least relatively mainstream knife-specific dealers.

It is BY FAR my favorite knife (and I'm NOT a huge SpyderCo fan!), but I can't believe how difficult it still is to get one!

(UPDATE 9/5/14 3:30PM Pacific time): One VERY (IMO) reliable site is currently taking pre-orders, and I don't believe this site would be taking pre-orders if they weren't expecting them soon...

Perhaps if we travel back in time.... To ye olden days... days where Cutlery might be sold in a store, or even perhaps in a Shoppe...?
Perhaps that is the key to the knives you seek...?

You know, the funny thing about that... I live in Northern California (I know, have pity on me) and the only real knife shop I know of in the Bay Area is We Be Knives at Pier 39, which, for anyone who hasn't heard of it, is a major tourist attraction. I know they have been there for many years, but I only started collecting knives relatively recently and had never gone into the place. I figured that due to the rent, their prices had to be very inflated. I made a quick trip by there recently and didn't have a chance to price the knives overall, but I was amazed to see they had a discontinued Kershaw Groove Tanto black blade (1730TBLK). I asked the price and they were selling it for $20.00 less than I paid for mine! I was a bit amazed...

I have dreams about the shop that guy on YouTube (I forget his name, I'm sure you know who I mean if you've seen the videos) goes to that has AISLES full of knives, and he cherry picks the ones he wants from their selection.

(EDIT: Of course, I can always go to Big 5, and they do seem to specialize in discontinued knives...)

I used to search a few times a week until I finally found one a few days ago. Good luck.

Yeah Big 5... Sure to have some super tactical Smith & Wesson M&P garbage for $7.99
I feel you tho, I also live in NorCal and the physical selection around here is pretty weak.

For what it's worth, Sportsman's Warehouse has a pretty decent selection and they are opening up more and more of them around here.

I'm gonna check out the outlet in golden tomorrow. Usually when batches go out they stay in stock longer at the outlet compared to the online retailers.

Lately, a watchful eye on the exchange might allow you to score one for under $100...

I just ordered another S30V Para2 about 3 weeks ago. When I was looking, they were available at 4 or 5 major legitimate dealers in some blade configuration (although no dealers claimed to have the black/digicam model in stock). Can't name the dealer I bought it from(Not a paid BF dealer), but its a pretty big online retailer. They said they were out of stock online, but it was in the mail the day after I ordered it and in my hands 2 days after that. It was also priced pretty well, $115 shipped for a Digicam model with a Black DLC blade (the black blade costs more).
That said, it took me much longer to get my first Para2 but I also spent $20 less on it (it was a few years ago now, plus it was a satin blade model)
Maybe I just lucked out this time around and I was looking at the right time

You know, the funny thing about Big 5 though... I'm sure the vast majority of customers there have no idea the majority of knives they sell are discontinued (if they aren't cool looking M-Techs ;)), BUT, as a collector I actually LIKE that fact. Not long ago I got a discontinued CRKT Triumph Crawford Tanto Tiger Stripe blade Veff serrated (1031TSN) on sale for $37.96 (incl tax). I had been wanting one and they sell on the internet for around $90.00-$100.00!

I've never even heard of Big 5. I've lived in 3 different states in very different parts of the country, and I used their store locator. There are no stores within 100 miles of anyplace I've ever lived. Sounds like a good place to pick up some interesting knives though

Hmm... you aren't missing much! For some reason though, they seem to sell a lot of discontinued knives, probably get them cheap. NOT a big selection.

Try Bass pro in Manteca if you are ever out there.Dicks is popping up all over and worth a look...Pier 39 you need to ask for the local discount and ask them for the knifes not shown in the display case. You may find a special knife where you least expect it.Big 5 is a joke if you are looking for quality...
