Paramilitary 2 availability!

I had been interested in knives and reading the forums for a couple of years before I realized there is a great knife shop 20 minutes from my house. They have had para2's in stock pretty consistantly since last August. I guess their Web site doesn't get much traffic, they're not a paid dealer here.

I think there are actually quite a lot of little known knife dealer web sites out there... what comes up in the searches though are the big ones and the (what I would call) scam ones who never seem to have anything they list. But I would say even some of the paid dealers here have sites that aren't very well known...

I just purchased a pm2 all black that I found online. I called the vendor to confirm and he does have them in stock. I paid 137 shipped. He said he had 5 satin blade w/ black scales and 4 black on black after my order on Friday.

Good work, I just tried a bit (not extensively), just because I enjoy searching, and I couldn't find them...

(On a side note, both of the new PM2's that I have received, about a year or so apart, have required adjustment to make the compression lock work acceptably. When I got the first one, I had no idea how to adjust this... and I got a crappy response from SpyderCo warranty when I inquired about it. I find this really disappointing in a knife at this price level, which is otherwise SO excellent. If they are going to take SO long to produce them, at least they could adjust the compression locks properly! I am the person the gave the camo/black version the 2 star review on Amazon based on this, if anyone happened to have read that!)

Just ordered a G10 toxic green geared backspacer for my black/silver from Cuscadi, already have a black aero carbon geared Cuscadi backspacer on my camo/black, wasn't sure I liked it, but find the knife feels kind of less grippy without it... a b*tch to remove the lanyard insert to install it though! They have some pretty nice looking Kirinite scales for the PM2 in the shop too, but I don't know how grippy that would be. Also waiting for a couple black powercoated deep carry pocketclips from theoriginalspaceman.

Now I am just agonizing over whether I need to get the black/black version to complete my collection of the standard four versions... ADDICTION sucks...

That light switch is SO me lol

Simple. I got a Paramilitary 2 naught but a few days ago, and there's a secret to finding them.

Buy it in a knife shop.

Everyone on earth tries to get them off BladeHQ, when they come back in stock on a website there's probably several hundred people waiting for it. But several hundred people can't be waiting for it in a shop. Nobody looks in shops.

Except you.

What was the knife shop price?

You know, the funny thing about that... I live in Northern California (I know, have pity on me) and the only real knife shop I know of in the Bay Area is We Be Knives at Pier 39, which, for anyone who hasn't heard of it, is a major tourist attraction. I know they have been there for many years, but I only started collecting knives relatively recently and had never gone into the place. I figured that due to the rent, their prices had to be very inflated. I made a quick trip by there recently and didn't have a chance to price the knives overall, but I was amazed to see they had a discontinued Kershaw Groove Tanto black blade (1730TBLK). I asked the price and they were selling it for $20.00 less than I paid for mine! I was a bit amazed...

I have dreams about the shop that guy on YouTube (I forget his name, I'm sure you know who I mean if you've seen the videos) goes to that has AISLES full of knives, and he cherry picks the ones he wants from their selection.

(EDIT: Of course, I can always go to Big 5, and they do seem to specialize in discontinued knives...)

I know right. We in Cali doesn't have that luxury. LOL
Btw, if you stop by in SoCal, visit plaza cutlery in irvine. No where close to the knife heaven however they have quite many quality knives including CRKT, hinderer etc.
