Paramilitary 2 Lanyard pipe problem

Does anyone have pictures of the tube after its removed ? Can it be redesigned with a better tube or something. I rather have custom scales that ditch the tube and use a pin to attach a lanyard around.

I'm sure Spyderco could redesign the tube, although I can't see any reason why doing so would be a high priority for them. As things stand now, it's one surefire way for them to know if someone chose to void their warranty by disassembling the knife.
