Hi guys, first time poster here.
So I'm looking to buy a Paramilitary 2 (all black) model from someone. Just want to share some pics of the actual knife to make sure it's the real deal as I know fakes of this knife look nearly identical. I'm fairly certain this is a legit PM2. Thanks for any help.
Liner lock: the real PM2 has 2 holes in the liner fake has one correct?

Jimping: real has an angle fake is more straight correct?

Frame: real has a smooth rounded slot fake had more of a point correct?

Actual knife

So I just compared all your pics to my ACU camp PM2 that I bought from a reputable dealer about a year ago, and it seems this one is legit. All the cut outs in the liner match, the jimping matches what I have and all the markings and logos seem to match as well. I'm no expert, but it looks legitimate to me.

I've also heard the Chinese don't make a fake of the all black PM2 like above.
Yeah I have a good feeling about this blade.

There's no way to know 100% without actually seeing it in person and handling it. But as you said, I've never seen a fake PM2 with a black blade.

No idea man, and I just assume that every post like this lets the chineese get better at what they are doing.

Good rule of thumb is, if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. And always buy from a reputable place.

Props on doing your research before the purchase though.
Best of luck.

I've seen images of fake blacked out PM2's on the internet. But the OP's looks like the real deal. The coating on the blade has that dull, matte finish that Spydie DLC has. The Chinese copies are always more glossy.

Looks real to me. Congrats, it's a fantastic knife!

Also when in doubt, the small details usually give it away. Quality of the G10, jimping, edge retention, etc

A winnar is you!

Seriously though, looks good to me. I've got one with a satin finish that I purchased from the exchange that I'm pretty sure is real...:eek:

Thanks guys for the feedback. Yeah I've read and watched quite a few videos on the fakes. What would you offer for the above knife? Guy says blade was never used only had in pocket a few times. These are like $150 +/- new.

I got duped by a fake one with a black blade, they're out there

What's selling me on it is the skeletonized liner and the rounded cutout on the frame. All the fakes I've seen had one cutout and a pointed cutout frame.

I've seen fakes with liners that looked identical to the original. Two cutouts and all.

Why not just buy one new from a reputable dealer, or here on the Exchange? I've seen them new for much less than $150, and you could prob get a LNIB on the exchange for $100-110.

Another check that I believe still works it to request a picture of the bar code on the box. You can use an app to scan it. Real ones will come up, the ones on the fake boxes do not. (As long as the seller doesn't have a fake knife and a real box, of course!)

There are so many fakes out there though that I stuck with reputable dealers for all of mine.

I own three Paramilitary 2s and all of them have what looks to be a small machining mark on each liner. I believe this to be a good way to determine authenticity.

Yes I have that pic as well. What is that scan app?
