Just wondering if anyone knows why Spyderco put the liner lock on the Paramilitary 2 on the wrong side of the handle? I have several liner lock knives and love them because they are easy to close one handed. I bought Paramilitary 2 because it was a liner lock but I guess I didn't pay close enough attention because I didn't notice where the liner lock was located. I like the knife but don't think much of the liner lock placement.

Not a liner lock...it's called a compression lock, and it's easy to operate one-handed.

As neffarious stated, it's not a liner lock. Obviously, it took inspiration for the liner lock, but it's an upgrade over the original.

sure looks like a liner lock to me, as for it being an improvement I don't agree, as far as I'm concerned it's a step backwards

You may have a counterfit Para2. They've never used liner locks on the Para.

Give it a try, you might come to love it. Super smooth, easy to close one handed if you use your right pointer to disengage the lock, and very strong. The best part is you don't need to put a finger in front of the edge to close it.

It is nothing at all like a liner lock.
The way it locks is entirely different.

Go to Youtube and watch videos of how others operate the knife. It's certainly not my favorite, but it beats the hell out of any liner lock I've used.

The Compression Lock is an evolution in lock design and is one of the strongest and safest.

Some may not care for the way it is operated but there's no questioning it as an improvement.

Welcome to my left handed hell... But with 5 mins of the PM2 in hand, My left thumb can disengage that sweet blade like a boss. I'd like to see a switched version. Wonder if I'd like it...

Op, are you lefty or righty?
The compression lock is what makes the PM2 so awesome. It's almost as fast as the Axis lock. Don't know which way your operating it but it sounds like the wrong way.

To me the only liner lock worth having is a GB1 the Para 2 is an upgrade. The compression lock is much stronger and much more user friendly than a liner lock.
