I m right handed and I think it s actually easier to close with my left hand! One of my favorite locks. I wish Spyderco put this lock on more knives.

sure looks like a liner lock to me, as for it being an improvement I don't agree, as far as I'm concerned it's a step backwards

I wanted to badly to think you weren't a troll and were genuinely curious. You, sir, have let me down.

I like the compression lock just fine, even better after I learned how to close it. I got curious when you said left hand and happen to have 2 PM2s in my briefcase so I pulled one out to test. I could close it in normal liner lock fashion by pushing with my thumb in the lock but that makes it difficult to hold the knife- if my thumb is pushing on the lock it isn't helping to hold the knife. Normally I hold the knife with thumb and 3 fingertips while the 4th fingertip pushes on the lock. And if your pivot is loose like one of mine is, be sure your fingertips are out of the way. I played with it a little more but could not figure out a way to close it easier with the left hand.

the compression lock is simply awesome.....compression lock>>>>>>>>>Liner lock

every lock will revolve around the compression principal eventually, because is it that much stronger. the 3 I know of are the Axis, the Triad and the compression lock. there must be other techniques used also. ah the «power lock» is a compression lock as well no?

Absolutely love the PM2. Relax grip, drop down the trigger finger and close one handed. Amazing. Why aren't they on more models?
