Paramilitary Pron

I've got them all stored in a small SpyderPak for now. After they release the fluted CF model later this year (fingers-crossed), the small SpyderPak will be full, so I'll have to look for other arrangements. I've recently replaced the foam insert in one of my older aluminum Zero Halliburton cases so that I can start using it for knife storage. I've been collecting knives (and especially Spydercos) for over 30 years and need to get them all in one place...

Thanks for all the nice comments, guys! Certainly is a "labor of love!"

Now, in all honesty. Do any of your knives have any blade play, lateral or horizontal?

On a couple of mine has lateral play but I want my blade to drop freely if I tighten I have to give it a little flick for it to drop...

Do you prefer the para 1 or 2? I personally love the para 1. Wish I could find one with the coated blade.

That is a VERY nice collection! I would also like to know the answer to Rev's question. I personally have never had any of those issues that weren't fixed with a slight adjustment of the pivot.

It all depends on how you adjust the pivot and, to a lesser degree, the stop pin. Like Roy, I like my EDCs to be adjusted a little loose so they flick in and out via gravity. You do this at the expense of a tiny bit of blade play. But some of mine are tightened down to "normal" tolerances, and they have absolutely no play whatsoever. One of my early user Para 1 knives does have some play that I haven't been able to tune away - probably because it has been used hard and put away wet (before I got her, mind you!).

I finally got around to shooting another set of pictures of my Para collection. I'm now the proud owner of 18 Paras - including one of each of the 17 variants with separate model numbers. My 18th Para is my main EDC knife, a 20CP sprint with burgundy micarta scales from Cuscadi. The only other modification in my collection is the bladed Para2, which now sports titanium scales from John Grimsmo.

These knives are arranged in the order which they were released by Spyderco.

Nice collection!

Thanks for that. All 20 something of mine are pretty solid and can't muscle any movement. My user S90VCF is as solid as the day it arrived. This is quite possibly my favorite Spyderco folder of all time. Everything that comes out of Golden gets compared to the Para series. :)

Thanks Ted, I hope to acquire the few missing pieces in my collection one of these days. My SE Para has seen the most use of them all, and would you believe that the edge on it is still scary sharp? Cardboard (double and triple walled) was not really as abrasive as I thought. thanks again for the pictures.

I am glad others post collections like this, then when my wife complains I have too many knives, I just show her some pictures of other peoples' collections, problem solved.
