Paramilitary titanium?

This has been discussed elsewhere- the first question is obviously if this is real or not. I would think that the scale with the lockbar would be very hard to manufacture so this is likely not a quick fake.

Personally I'm not sure that I like the pattern of the flutes, I like the fluted Military more. But I would like smooth scales just as much.

True dat.
Sal if you read this, Ti sandblasted with 220 Al2O3 looks amazing.

Strange enough, based on the first picture in this thread, the fluted PM2 does not ring any bells for me.

The sand blasted one above is a different story altogether !

Thats pretty awesome.

Interesting that the seller appears to be a machinist, and Chicopee is a weird spot for that to show up.

Yeah the fluted one does nothing for me, but the blasted flat scale one is very very nice.

The claim is that this is very rare, and very valuable ($500-$1,000). Without some authentic Spyderco documentation confirming their manufacture of this knife, I wouldn't touch it.

As far as the Spyderco A.T.R. I acquired two of them over the years from the early 1990's. The ATRs are some big hooters with great feel in the hand. They have this neat cobra neck thumb tab on the top of the blade which has an unusual shape.

Side question but who made those scales?

John Grimsmo. He's a knifemaker based out of Ontario. I think he made 20 pairs of titanium scales for the PMII both in a flat (what I have) and also a honeycomb pattern. Needless to say, they're very rare and expensive, but oh so worth it!

I talked to the person all they told me is that they got it as payment from the person who made it.

Still doesn't prove or disprove any relation to Spyderco unfortunately. Did it actually sell for $2100? It seems to have sold twice on the same day, once in an auction listing for $810 and the other BIN for $2100.

IMO, without provenance that's pretty crazy, but I guess if you have the cash to burn
