Parang Masters

Yeah they are pretty good.
But the sharpening stone in the beginning of the vid is what really gets my attention.

I saw this the other day and remember thinking so nowhere is safe from the convex edge it seems.

Aye those boys are pretty fast alright. I'm sure they make a boat in a day to, from one log.

I'm sure Doc will love the cordage shot. I really liked the way they stitched those palm leaves together.

Frickin' sweet! And I, too, like the stone. It kind of makes me wonder why no company is producing something similar. Imagine a set of Spyderco ceramic stones that are flat on one side, but with a concave obverse. Hmm....

You really can't avoid having stones that look like that. Especially the softer coarser stones. The whole deal with waterstones for doing chisels and box level blades is dressing the stone to keep it flat. Big time waste of stone for convex use. One man's junk is another man's treasure. LOL

Oh, exactly. Which is why I'd love to see something purpose-built out of ceramic, which basically never wears. It's a great material but just wouldn't give you that lovely dish effect over time. :)
