PARANGATANG! A Dozier & Ka-barley too

Epic! Great trio in that final pic. Cool scales on the 9 as well.
If it wasn't for customs, I'd be all over the Parangatang at that price. They made a huge fuss over the Swabbie I won here (as in: lot's of questions and it took quite a while before I finally got it) so I guess I'll have to pass up :(.

I purchased the Parangatang based on this thread. It surpassed my expectations. I used it to clear hunting trails in the woods and to chop down a medium sized pine tree in my yard. I liked the handle once I got used to it; it seems like it was designed for snap cuts. The sheath was better than I expected, it doesn't look very good in pictures but the stitching seem heavy duty and it works fine.

I have three other machetes that won't be seeing much use now!

I just bought two parangatangs. Knifecenter has them for $59.99 and free shipping over $95. I can't believe these can be bought for so little, they are fantastic heavy machetes.

I'm on the lookout for the black scales that come with the zk series knives.

Yep, I bought mine from Knifecenter as well; great price. I'm thinking of making some wooden scales for mine.

I also think the Parangatang is easier to sharpen compared to my other machetes; there is no heavily rounded off tip, just a nice consistent curve.

I'm surprised to see this thread back up at the top, but that's not a bad thing. Glad some others are buying this great machete, it's really a beast of a chopper and more people should experience it. :)
