paranoid of losing nice knives

.... ran us up on some rocks in a rapids area, the canoe spun backwards and dumped us both in the drink. Of course he was on the rocks and only got a little wet - I was not, so I went under completely. When I got out of the water and restled the canoe to shore my Spyderco Chinook has hanging from my pants by the Gear Keeper.....

I have found many a knife in the Guadalupe River due this scenario (minus the Gear Keeper). Old Lady 'Lupe has passed on many things to me simply cuz I look under the water around the falls and 'tween the rocks wearing a dive mask. It's like Christmas!!!!

I was waiting to read about someone being afraid to lose some $400-800 custom folder, not a $20-30 slip joint. :) Loosing anything sucks, but loosing a $10-50 knife isn't the end of the world.

No $hit, eh?

I carry both a Mayonized Sebbie and one of several smaller Busse FB's every day. They all ride in nice tight belt pouches. The Sebbie lost it's clip befor it went to Tom and the Busse factory sheaths got put aside.

There is anywhere from $550 to $750 on my belt every day and I don't worry about it. 1, because I'm worth it and 2, the custom sheaths should keep everything where it should be.

It's money well spent and you can enjoy your knives.

I'm kind of odd when it comes to knife price. Today, it's a $110 AGR Scout. Tomorrow, it may well be a $15 SAK Soldier. Day after that, it could well be a Case Tested 6231. Never lost a knife in my life. :)

I lost my 1st run Spyderco Military about a year ago, edc since I got it, I was upset :grumpy: to say the least.

I found a used one on Ebay for a desent price to replace it, then bought 2 new ones in case I lose the beater. I hated losing it, but hated being without one more.

Maybe I need a shrink
