Park Ranger LC MOD (Choil haters should not look)

Not a big fan of choils in general, but that looks better than most choils I’ve seen, homemade or from the factory. Nice work!

Did you lose any cutting edge?

Nicely done.

Fantastic.

One quick and easy tweak that you may want to keep in mind, break the corners of the micarta, where you removed the choil area.

That 90° corner can be a little rough under extended use, and just a rounding of the corner, or a slightly more drastic thinning or profiling will work wonders.

Again, nice work.

I will keep that in mind. Thank you for the advise!

It looks great!!! What was the process you used??? And what tools?

Everyone knows I love me some choiles!!!

I would suggest chamfering the edges of the grip now like this.

Dremel cut off wheel at low speed. 3/4 inch sanding drum in cordless drill on 1. 1000 grit sandpaper to smooth the edges.
Would like to chamfer the edges but I noticed that anything I did to the green micarta turned it white.

It's only white while you sand it down. Once you clean it up it will go back to the color it should be.

Very nice work! I would definitely round over all the edges at the sharp point at the back of the choil though.
