I give Parker an "A" for effort. Maybe some of the Case knife collectors would have a little different view. Case quality took a little hit under his reign plus he sold off allot of valuable knives meant to be held in a museum at Case. I'm sure his inner circle made out on some of these. I know he did everything he could to make money and stay in business. Without him Case would be doing what Schrade and Marbles are doing now. So whats a few hundred rare knives really matter when it comes to keeping the lights on and feeding a couple dozen employees and their families. Don't forget the Case Classic series "real or fake protos" that some other company made and who knows why that happened?$$$

I used to have a Parker toothpick, with a super-gaudy etch on the blade that read "Saturday Night Special." I don't have it any more; gifted it to a fellow I work with, as a thank you present (he brought me a 5-gallon bucket full of oysters he tonged from the Chesapeake Bay). Totally worth it. :D

Parker-Edwards Damascus Survival with all the goodies still in the handle. 255 of 1200. Club knife.

I believe it's called "Reading the knife and sometimes the person who sold them" :D

I LOVE it when BL gets "cumudgeonly".
I have to say, he's My kind of teacher.

Very best regards

I have a Parker Eagle K-540 that I picked up recently at a pawn shop. It is much like the Buck 110 with stag scales. I thought it was a Schrade USA at first glance and then handled it. Opted to buy it more out of curiosity than anything else. It is very sharp and the blade is marked "Surgical steel" and made in Japan. I assume it is 440A.

I think they are better knives than most people gave them credit for back in the 1980's and 1990's and prior to Jim Parker's death.

Here's my one and only keeper. Parker 3-1/2 Trapper with India stag handles and a 512 layer Damascus blades.
