i have a 1095 blade thats already heat treated tempered and sharpened what? if any negatives will there be from parkerizing and will it prevent rusting or would hot bluing be better. its probably a silly ? but im just starting out and im gonna mid tech a few knifes before i move up to grinding my own and dont want to ruin any thing. thanks in advance

Parkerizing will not effect your HT or temporing. Parkerizing, Zinc Phosphatein or Manganese Phosphate. in a nut shell will create a crystaline surface on the metal being treated. This surface will absorb oils to help prevent rust. If left dry the parked metal could rust fast, depending on the environment. Parkerizing, I think, is mush easer than than hot bluing and a better rust preventer.

Here is a M1 Garand reciever I parked with Manganese Phosphate
