10/26/17 Final Update: It's a wrap! Please see Part 6 (Donations Made!) here: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...oing-to-the-dogs-sale-donations-made.1529020/

10/15/17 Update
: All remaining knives have now been consolidated for sale in Part 5 here:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/part-5-of-afaustin’s-5th-annual-going-to-the-dogs-sale.1526764/#post-17532015 So I'm going to close Parts 1, 2, 3, & 4 at this time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is Part 4 of my 5th Annual "Going to the Dogs" Sale. Part 1 is here:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/afaustin’s-5th-annual-going-to-the-dogs-sale.1519468/
Part 2 is here:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/part-2-of-afaustin’s-5th-annual-going-to-the-dogs-sale.1520900/
And Part 3 is here:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/part-3-of-afaustin’s-5th-annual-going-to-the-dogs-sale.1522378/
Part 4 is a very special addition to my sale and is due entirely to the incredible generosity of our esteemed member and my friend, Phil (BF screen name: Phaint). Phil and his wife are proud owners of two fine rescue dogs themselves, and Phil wanted to make a personal contribution to this effort. So he bowled me over by sending me three great knives to sell for the cause. Phil, you are a great dog man and a great knife man, and all I can say is Thank You!
Everything else is the same as in Parts 1, 2, & 3, including that 100% of the proceeds will go to the pups.
In addition: I’ve also reduced prices on the remaining Part 2 & Part 3 knives — so please take another look at those threads.
Update: Please also see Part 5 here: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/part-5-of-afaustin’s-5th-annual-going-to-the-dogs-sale.1526764/#post-17532015
For convenience sake, let me repeat the ground rules:
Details:
Prices include shipping, USPS 1st Class, w/ Delivery Confirmation. PayPal or m.o. only. I'll cover the PayPal fees, so go ahead and list it as a sale of goods, not a gift. (If you want insurance, let me know and I will figure your cost. Otherwise, I will not be responsible for items lost or damaged in the mail.)
Please understand that I have the right to sell or not sell to whomever I choose.
1st unconditional "I'll take it", followed up with prompt payment. For PayPal info. or questions, please e-mail me at: aforsythe4 (at) austin (dot) rr (dot) com
Once we have a deal, please post "I’ll take it" in this sales thread (if you haven’t already). The new BF software requires that in order for us to exchange feedback, which I think is important.
By buying these knives you are stating that you are at least 18 years of age, and otherwise in compliance with all applicable laws regarding them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

International Sales Policies:

1) I fill out the Customs forms accurately, and so I will list this as a sale/commercial transaction, not as a gift.

2) You assume responsibility for any mishaps with Customs or shipping.

3) We will agree on the manner and additional cost of shipping before finalizing the deal. Also, PayPal charges a higher fee on international sales, so I will approximate that and add it to your total.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now without further ado, let’s get to Phil’s knives!
Thanks for helping the pups!
Andrew
3) Case XX Barlow #62009 ½. in Red Sawcut Bone. Phil tells me this is a 1940-1964 Case knife. Carbon steel.
The sawcut is interesting on this knife. On the pile side, it is typical. On the mark side, it looks more like "half a fishtail"— there is a faint line lengthwise down the middle and the lines are only on the top half. Rich and varied shades of red in the bone.
There is plenty of patina and spots as you would expect on an older carbon knife. The blades are full and very sharp. There are 3 small nicks towards the tip end of the main (which I didn’t notice till I used a loupe). The pull is moderately strong on the main, but very strong on the pen—sometimes I can open it with my nail and sometimes I can’t. Regarding the sharpness — I got a little careless and the pen took a nice bite out of my finger!
No box. $50.00 SOLD
