ive seen a thread of someone swapping delica blades and noticed that some other parts seem similar (ex: civilian and military handle, ukpk and caly3, and of course knives that have variants). do we know of any other parts that can be swapped? could a ffg endura blade even fit on a frn endura handle? and the one that really interests me could you make a s30v caly 3 and vg-10 ukpk? or do the tangs/ locks (or lack of) make it impossible? just wondering -CB

I think you can swap the blades on the Enduras (G10 and FRN). The Civilian + Military: probably not; the locks are different. Likewise with the UKPK and Caly 3. Maybe with some handle modification, but you can't just do a simple swap.

When switching blades on a Delica or Endura, it's a good idea to switch the lockbars as well, it'll ensure better fit.

could a ffg endura blade even fit on a frn endura handle?

Yes. I have two Enduras with swapped blades. A ZDP-189 blade in a G-10 handle and a flat ground VG-10 blade in a FRN handle. I love them both!

Swapping the lock bars with the blades did NOT work. In this case, the lock bars needed to remain with the original handles.

Iv done a few swaps for my self and others.

It needs to be between "close family" knives as the locks and dimentions like blade thicknes need to be the same for it to work properly.

The locks are the important part so swapping the lock bar is a good idea but as Shangchi said it dosnt always make for the best fit in the "new" handle.

You just need to make sure the lock up is good and solid no matter what.

Has anyone had any problems when swapping out blades with getting the tightness of the pivot right?
It seems that in order to keep the blade working smoothly, I have to keep the pivot screw really loose. If I try tightening it, even just a little, it gets really hard to open.

thanks!
