Please excuse my ignorance. This is truly a question because I just do not know. Why partially harden? Is the process more difficult than completely hardened? Or are special ovens / devices needed to completely harden a blade? Thank you if you help.

Great looking knife by the way. Very tempted.

Hi

The blade is hardened entire obviously.
Cutting edge is hardened to a higher hardness.
The back of the blade has a lower hardness.
The knife blade is thus at a very hard and yet flexible and resilient.
The second thing is the design, Hamon (lines on the edge) looks good.

What an amazing package! And that handle is something else... Very nicely done, sir
