i going to get a spyderco endura and i cant choose between partically serrated or plain edge with is better for edc/utlity please help

I think PE is usually better for all-around. PE can do what SE can do (maybe a bit harder for for some tasks, eg rope cutting), but SE can't do what PE can do (clean cuts).

The endura is built for CE. It is super versatile, ideal for a wide variety of materials, and is the best edge for SD in that knife. Looks cool too. Unless you cut a lot of wood, there's no reason not to go CE.

What THG said. However, one area that SE excels in, is the cutting of fiberous plant materials, such as Blackberry and Morning Glory. For gardening, SE is King.

cardboard,zipties,and outher verious meterils

I find a plain edge cuts cardboard more smoothly and evenly than a serrated edge, but that may not matter to you. I've had no problem cutting zip ties with a plain edged Delica, but my serrated Dodo cuts zip ties just as well. But if you needed to cut rope or carpet, or any fibrous material, you're better with with a serrated edge.

I use both, depending on what I'm cutting. That's probably why they make combo edges.

IMO the CE Endura is the best all arounder.

If you are breaking down boxes just for disposal who cares if it cuts smoothly, rip em apart and get the job done. :D
