Does anyone have a diagram showing the names of the parts on a fixed blade knife. Also which side of a blade is the left, which side the right. Thanks,Toby

Maybe this will help. When you hold the knife by the handle and point it out in front of you, the right side is the obverse, the left side the pile. Usually. Unless you use the gangsta hold, then the side facing up is the pile and the side facing down is the obverse. Unless you are lefthanded or in Britain. There it won't matter how you hold it , a fixed blade is illegal. Usually.

Yup. So where is the lanyard hole? We don't all wear thongs, you know. And... is that illustration showing the left side as the obverse???? Those Brit knives? If so, even the pics may be unlawful to posess. Paper cuts? Good illustrations though (El Lobo the Fixed declared it so!), even if the presentation side of UH and OT fixed blades is usually the right side where the shield (and most tangstamps ) are displayed.

Hmmm, and I thought that a "pile obverse" was a bunch of writing with rhyme and rythm...

I thought a pile observer was a proctologist.I think I've been seeing to many doctors.Toby

You're thinking of a reverse pile, a football play. Or maybe that's a gomer pile. No, that's rugby.
