I placed separate orders from Mr. Hurttila. I ordered the Puukko first and the Leuku second. Now that I have received both, I can say that I am very happy with the knives. They are both very well constructed and I have little doubt they will hold up to a lifetime of use. The Puukko is just a tank of a knife. The blade is a very handy size and the rhomboid section of the knife makes it a breeze at carving. It came crazy sharp out of the box. I can't find a fault with this knife.

The Leuku is a serious blade. Heavier than a Stromeng but also a light year ahead in quality. I gave it a few chops on a seasoned piece of Oak and it did quite well.

Both knives feel great in the hand and I will put them to some hard use once summer is over. Texas summers are 100+ and I am just not up to that nonsense. I will wait for Fall.

All in all, the price is quite good, approximately $200 for each and the wait time was about 8-10 weeks each. They were worth the wait.

Nice knives. I'm seeing Mr. Hurttila's stuff around a lot more now. That puukko in particular is a sweet piece, too bad I alread have one with birch bark and I don't need another.

Two great knives ... I like the handles compared to to dark forge-marks on the blade.

Everytime I see finish traditionals, I realize that I still have none. This needs a change :D

Kind regards
Andi

Love that birch bark puukko! Add that to the must-have list....

I suspect you will be very pleased! Simple, ergonomic and beautiful, these are the puukko's watchwords.

The puukko is a very nice knife. I have a Jarvenpaa, Kellam, and Roselli and the Hurttila blows them out of the water in every way.
