Passing of Ed Fowler

He forges knives in a better place now...

RIP legend. One of the nicest guys to talk to. I always looked forward to talking to him at Blade.
Me too. The funny thing is that it seemed like every year I'd end up carrying that big bag of his from the hotel over to his table at the show.

(I was happy to do it, he always looked like he needed a hand...)

R.I.P.

Such a nice guy and knifemaker. I really enjoyed the time I was able to talk with him at Blade. He gave great feedback and encouragement. There are a number of guys who are getting to that age who led the way in the renaissance of knifemaking. Spend as much time as you can with each of them.

Mr. Fowler found out I am a watch aficionado. He told me he had a Rolex, but was unsure if he should wear it.
He brought it to the Blade Show. I told him the watch was made to be used, and as long as he didn't abuse it, wearing it would hurt nothing-he DESERVED to wear that watch.
He seemed to be glad to hear that. I hope he wore it and enjoyed it for the rest of his life. He was such a nice man.
