My first impression was that he took an everyday whatever (the cult of the peanut, right?) and wove some nice writing around it, some of his better. That's all I noticed when I read it. The other may be there, I dunno. It's surely not there in a big ol' let's have a witch hunt way.

Exactly. Carl is a great story-teller. This is a fun on-going story ref the Cult being a "secret society". How someone could find anything offensive in it is a mystery to me. It's a spoof and a fun concept is all.

I apologize if I got anyone riled up with my previous post. I have spent too many years defending this country and missed to much time with my own family in the service of the OL RED WHITE and BLUE to let someone insinuate that this country is filled with a bunch of redneck racists or some such nonsense. Or that somehow we are terrible people because were not "PC". Whether people like it or not the "good ol boys" and the "rough around the edges" individuals are the ones who defend this country both home and abroad and guarantee the freedom's that we all enjoy from our constitution. (end of rant)
Thanks to all for such a great forum! Hands down the best I've ever been on.

Not a peanut owner (YET - Wednesday is my birthday and I'm most certain my oldest son is getting me one in blue jigged bone). I've wanted one ever since I got into traditionals. I know how the addiction works and my 10 or 12 GEC slippies, and a dozen or more traditionals prove that. I wanted my first to be a gift somehow (weird I know) and that one will remain with me all my days and be passed down to a son or grandchild.
I don't know Carl, or Dan, or anyone in the society but it was a great story from what appears to be a great man and storyteller. I found the post by clicking on "what's new" first thing this morning.

I was intrigued, amused, and enjoyed the story immensely. My intial though after reading through the whole thread, honestly, was when someone mentioned being offended by something about the words in the story concerning midgets, or women, etc. Jeez, it was just a story, and a great one at that. Just my .02.
The few pics included were awesome and hopefully their will be more 'Nut' pics in this thread. I'm already planning my 2nd one and I'm looking for something unusual (probably a damascus version if it exists). I never saw a damascus peanut. Can someone post a pic?

Glad to hear the Stories will continue Carl! I've gotten immense enjoyment from them - read some of them a few times! They're great for a relaxing short read :)

It's the new Case large Stockman and chestnut Peanut this morning - these two will cover any pocket knife task I can imagine! lol :)

Am I in now? Cause I gotta say that this little knife is awesome. I've told several people already that it definitely lives up to to the hype and reputation. Fits perfectly in a front pocket. Fit and finish is great and it's just a beautiful, useful, work of art tool. I'm gonna put about 20 years into this one and then pass it on to one of my grandkids. You guys tell your kids and grandkids to look for it on BF in 2034. :D
