jdm the steel is 5160 and yes it is a hidden tang

How did you heat treat the blade? Did you heat the entire thing and edge quench it or just "torch" the edge? Forge, oven or salt bath?

Way to go,:thumbup:. As nerve racking as doing the bend test was, wait until Atlanta. Standing there waiting and waiting and waiting, there was enough sweat dripping from all the submitees last year ( Wheeler was the worst ) outside that room to have filled a 20 gal wash tub.

thanks Bill yes at least the easy part is over i got three done and should get the forth done this weekend then start the fith then more than likely start over again

Nice job Dave! Did you get a tester table for the show?
Just keep making them till the show and don't forget ...most of the judges will have "normal" size hands so you might want to make all miniture knives.
